Writer's picture: Patricia BrickerPatricia Bricker

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) offers stipends up to $500 for medical student and resident members to do a rural clerkship.

Applicants must be either a third or fourth year medical student or a resident in an approved U.S. program and be a member of the ASA. An ASA member mentor must oversee the activities during the rotation. A list of approved ASA member mentors is available online. Applicants must connect with approved mentors before applying for the ASA scholarship.

Applications are reviewed quarterly and must be submitted the quarter before the clinical rotation is planned.
