PA AHEC Program Office staff had a very busy spring attending several conferences and events to share information about AHEC programs and initiatives and to learn from our peers in other organizations across PA and the nation. In March 2024, Statewide Program Evaluator Julie Lentes presented at the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment Annual Conference in Virginia, sharing a summary of the PA Training Center for Health Equity’s role in training Community Health Organizers. Dr. Lentes also joined Program Manager Amanda Taylor Gehman later that month in Chicago at the Covid-19 Health Disparities Reverse Site Visit, where they presented on the health equity initiatives that PA AHEC provided with funding from the CDC (photo).

Throughout April, Program Office staff attended various conferences and events including The Hospital Association and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania Leadership Summit, the PA Department of Health’s Health Equity Summit, the PA Association of Community Health Center’s Integration Summit, the PA Rural Community and Public Health Conference, the Latino Health Summit, and the PA Workforce Development Association Conference. PA AHEC was an exhibitor at the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Conference in the Pocono Mountains, and an invited poster presenter at the National Rural Health Association Health Equity Conference in New Orleans.

We are so grateful for all of the opportunities we have had to share PA AHEC’s accomplishments and look forward to more events in the fall!
